Bonnet Carre Spillway, Louisiana That was a hoot!

I was being super careful to avoid all highways and take the windy River Road that runs along the east side of the Mississippi.

I was driving along River Road admiring all the industrial facilities the state houses and I drove straight onto the landing platform by the pavilion on the east side of the Bonnet Carre Spillway.

For 3o split seconds I debated what I was seeing. To the left was the Mississippi River and there was a dam. I drove right up to the end of the black top road. Looking down I could see where tires did take the plunge and drive down the narrow grassy road but I didn’t think it was a good idea because I couldn't see how it ended and I didn't want to get the rental stuck.
